Hank Phillipi Ryan delivers a thought-provoking, eerie, psychological thriller with All This Could Be Yours. Right from the prologue, we know that Tessa Calloway is driven, intelligent, and a caring person for her family and community. Years later, when she instantly becomes a bestselling author, we learn that there’s a darker side to her past. She definitely has skeletons in her closet, and any possibility of them becoming public could definitely destroy her new life just as it began.
Not only does the author build a suspenseful and gripping storyline, but I felt connected with Tessa as a reader. Many wives or moms who struggle to balance their dreams with their role in the family will definitely related to Tessa’s character. She misses her family, but knows that she must continue on her path as planned to ensure a great life for them. Yet in the background, someone is threatening to ruin everything. And she constantly toes the line of self-doubt and finding ways to protect herself and her family.
It must be noted that this book is also somewhat of a love letter to everyone in the publishing industry – PR reps, agents, independent bookstores, libraries, readers, and everyone in between. Through Tessa’s story arc, the author shows her appreciation and gratitude for everyone involved in making a book release and tour successful.
The book was a bit slow to start, but I became invested in the outcome. There were plenty of moments where I thought I figured out some of the missing pieces and perpetrators – but I was completely wrong. That being said, I highly recommend readers who love suspense/thrillers pick this one up.
