Luckily Aiden finds a way for Lennox to keep the job, even if the wedding is no longer for him. Aiden’s older brother and coach, Gavin, is engaged to Millie. So Lennox is now planning a different Langfield wedding and spending more time with the family she was once close to.
Aiden uses each opportunity to woo Lennox, and it begins to work. And once their “engagement” is announced, the Langfields are delighted, not knowing it’s a ruse. Lennox’s father, on the other hand, is not happy and continuously tries to set her up with another man. So when he lays out all the cards on the table and threatens their relationship, Aiden fears that he might have to let Lennox go once again.
Review
Anyone who is familiar with Brittanée Nicole’s work are already familiar with Aiden and his brothers from her Revenge Era series. Myself included. And after reading Hockey Boy, I can guarantee that fans will get more of what they love with her writing and characters. Lennox is a hilarious and relatable character, fitting into the Langfield gang seamlessly. We also get a closer look at Aiden. Always the happy one, he secretly struggles with depression. He worries that any treatment beyond therapy will affect his performance on the ice and his image. I always appreciate mental health representation in novels, and liked Nicole’s take on Aiden’s situation. The couple’s journey to finding love with each other again is heartwarming, and I can’t wait to see how other characters in the series get their own love stories. This author has become one that I keep an eye on in case I need a cute and steamy romance.
