Now eight years later, Asma realizes she never got over him. But now everyone in her family and social circle see his suitability too. So Asma has competition for her second chance at love.
Review
Maznavi offers a sweet and culturally relevant love story with Yours, Eventually. The standards that Pakistani women face can resonate with readers from all walks of life. Women are under immense pressure to marry and have children. And while men chasing their career is expected, women become less desirable if they do the same.
The book loses points for a slow pace and lack of substantial romance. I would more so categorize this story as women’s fiction, as it focuses more on Asma’s growth as a character and less on the actual relationship. Even so, I appreciated the insight into Pakistani life and how similar societal pressures are among different cultures.
